On October 2, 2023, Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, the Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston officially opened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Houston, Texas—a momentous occasion for all who attended.
Solid Light Owner & CEO, Cynthia Torp was joined by Chief Operating Officer, Chris Mozier and Project Manager, Jackson King to celebrate the grand opening. Solid Light has worked in close collaboration with the client team, international scholars, local education consultants, and building architects and general contractors for four years to create a visitor experience capturing the global influence and importance of Gandhi, his teachings, and his stories.
“Our team has worked tirelessly to design an experience representative and worthy of bearing the name Mahatma Gandhi. To stand in the lobby as Gandhi’s grandson, Dr. Rajmohan Gandhi, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s nephew, Isaac Newton Farris, Jr., walked through the museum filled me with a gratifying sense of pride for the role the Solid Light team had in conveying the message this museum embodies,” Cynthia Torp commented after the celebratory event.
