With more than 30 years of experience, Kay is well-versed in all phases of production. She is a non-fiction production specialist with a passion for complex large-scale location shoots as well as filming that requires small documentary crews.
Kay has been a part of the museum production community for over 25 years. Working as a freelance producer/production supervisor for documentaries, television, commercials, and non-fiction films across the country and around the world—including numerous national museums, notable non-profits, and highly-recognizable Fortune 500 companies.
The Butterfly Trees, a feature length documentary and personal project of Kay’s, tells the story of the long-distance migration of the eastern monarch butterfly. It premiered in 2019 and has been accepted into over a dozen film festivals across the country, receiving several awards including “Best Documentary” and “Best Feature Film”.
Overseeing the Solid Light media team, Kay offers mentorship, expertise, and creative direction that surpass client expectations. Kay’s extensive knowledge is integral throughout every phase of the project’s production process.
