John Murphy

Executive Creative Director

John’s career as a creative innovator in experience design, media design, and production has resulted in evocative visitor experiences for distinguished destinations. He has worked nationally to create for both the cultural and corporate environment with work in the National Constitution Center, The National Infantry Museum, World of Coca-Cola, Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center, the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, The National World War I Museum, the Falls of the Ohio Visitor Center, the American Civil War Museum, the Delta Blues Museum, and many others.

For more than 35 years, John has led teams to create experiences that tell great stories through emotionally powerful and artistically crafted productions. At Solid Light, he directs our creative team to create wholly immersive experiences designed to transport audiences with an emotional connection to story. He applies his unique understanding of three-dimensional space and media to create compelling and memorable visitor experiences on every project. His work combines a strong sense of design with an understanding of how to connect with audiences through great storytelling. John’s creative work has earned two Themed Entertainment Association THEA awards, an American Alliance of Museums Muse award and Excellence in Exhibitions award, and the SEGD Honor Award.
