Creating the Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience
The essence of this project began two decades ago through a collaboration on a visitor center with Harry Shapira of Heaven Hill and Solid Light, Inc. Heaven Hill leadership re-engaged Solid Light along with Abel Construction Company to create the recently opened Heaven Hill Bourbon Experience: a multi-faceted, multi-phased visitor center project that delivers unique services and programming throughout the campus.
While the basic mold for a successful bourbon-focused visitor experience was cast in the 2004 flagship project, the recent renovation and expansion strived to build upon and advance those concepts. In working with a robust team whose experience touches upon all aspects of the Heaven Hill story, from the family history through how the processing line works today, a visitor experience was developed that reaches audiences and brings them into the story.
Solid Light was responsible for master planning, architectural concept, design, media, and fabrication of branded storytelling spaces, tasting rooms, retail, restaurant and bar, unique You Do Bourbon hands-on learning, and immersive theatrical experiences.
